The pieces fit together well without a lot of effort to get them to connect just right. The American Girl Doll play figures are adorable and have great detail. The animals that are included are really sweet and well designed--my daughter's favorite is easily the large sloth. This set has so many options to design, redesign and get creative. We have enjoyed creating awesome play scenes that have SO MUCH DETAIL. Additional accessories include a great vehicle, first aid kit that opens and closes, pet animals, and really neat details like telescopes, cameras, hammocks and trees. Awesome Playset Guaranteed Fun for HOURS!!!

I got this set for my daughter who frequently builds these types of sets and then gets bored and puts them away.  Since she has put this one together she has played and played with it.  It has kept her interest and she hasn't even gotten to the alternate setup of this one so I'm sure that she will have many more hours of entertainment from this 2 in 1 sanctuary. Excellent Product!

My daughter and I had a great time putting this set together. It's a big set and quite time consuming but that is a lot of the fun that you get from these construction sets. You have the choice between two adorable scenes to make and that really adds to the replay value. It is overall very well designed and it was really cool to see all these tiny pieces come together and make either the sanctuary or the animal shelter. It comes with plenty of figures so there is a lot of opportunity for imaginative play. My daughter really enjoyed that it came with so many animals and they truly are adorable and very detailed, especially considering their size. The various moving parts such as the bridge and the little car really make this much more than just a building set. Perfect for an American Girl Fan

My daughter really likes this set, and so did I. Overall the fact that you can do it two different ways, and how many pieces and accessories that came with, made it a really good value. We liked that the instructions actually came in a book and not a flimsy paper pamphlet. However we had some trouble with some of the blocks actually fitting together. My daughter asked me many times to do it for her because she simply couldn't do it, and it eight years old this is not a problem she normally has. But overall, she loves the set, she loves playing with it, and I couldn't have asked for a better one! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

A really nice set!

Fantastic for imagery play.  My 9 year old makes up amazing stories – happily entertaining herself.

What we love:
-The 2 included American Girl figures
-All the animals
-Accessories: multi-levels, the gate, the telescope and the hammock
-The size and variety of areas are great for playing.
-After building part of it that you choose which option to build.
-The colors and layouts.
-Even the instructions – colorful; easy to follow and adds to the story line.
 
Not so much:
-Both my other children (6 and 3), love playing with it but “break” the dolls – I need to replace the doll's arm when they play.  They are probably just too young or hard on it.
-So many very small parts.  Ok – we know this is a large build but we wish the parts for the smaller accessory pieces like desk or ATV were in separate clearly labeled bags.  We do not a dedicated space to lay out all the pieces and leave it there until complete.  My husband and children do not have the patience.  I overall enjoy it when not searching for the right piece.   
 
Notes:  As it states, this is not for very young children.  The accessories are very small.  They will be easy to lose too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Details and Options - My daughter loves

If your child likes Mega Contrux and American Girl then they will love this beautiful set. The set comes with American Girl Lea and her Friend Camila as Mega Construx mini figures. Both of the figures look very much like their larger American Girl counter parts and are poseable. This set comes with many animals like monkeys, lemurs, turtles and parrots. There is a hammock, car, lots of trees, flowers, tiny computer and food. AND you can choose to build the rainforest sanctuary or the animal rescue. All of which are highly detailed pieces. There are a total of 760 pieces included in the set which may seem intimidating, but I can assure you it is not. There is a beautifully detailed, easy to follow full color instruction book that shows you how to build the set step by step. My 10 year old was able to build a lot of the set by herself. It does take some time to build as there are a lot of pieces, but it was worth it when my daughter was all smiles and proud of having built the set on her own. I would highly recommend this set if you are looking for a fun quality toy that will give your child many hours of play. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great for kids

This set is amazing once its put together, providing hours of entertainment. All of the small accessories allow it to be the perfect doll house once completed. However, I wouldn't look to an 8 year old to be able to complete it themselves. Although the conversion is relatively easy the initial build is more of a group project. The pieces are not organized in the smaller bags. The longest part was separating the pieces to find what was needed. This was a few day process as my daughter is easily distracted. We finally decided the best thing to do was organize the pieces by color this allowed some coordination when building. Once the pieces were organized the building went relatively smoothly as the detailed instructions were very easy to follow. My daughter loved building the furniture first it really got her in the groove for building the bigger pieces. Altogether it is a great family project. I was thankful for the time we spent together building it. However, if a child is less then 10 I believe doing this by themselves would be very difficult. An awesome set with a lot of great features

My daughter had so much fun putting this together by herself. Took her about 3 hrs all by herself. Directions were very easy for her to follow, only down side we found was quite a few pieces were extremely hard to snap together and required an adult's help, even I had trouble. Our favorite things about the Mega Construx were how detailed everything is and the people are more poseable than legos. Also we love how it can be built in to several different scenes. Love the detailed pieces

My daughter was excited to play with the product. She likes the dolls and animals that came with it. She enjoys being able to rebuild it in more than one way. It comes with many features which keeps her busy. The dolls are a good size (2.5 inches) and have joints so you can move them around. I liked how there was an instruction booklet which teaches her how to put everything together. The negatives is that because the pieces are small, it can be difficult to work with at times, even with my help. Also, because there are so many small pieces, you can easily lose them.
