No, this pirate ship does not require batteries.

It does not require batteries, although I must say, my grandson who is 6 is not super fond of this toy.  It has a wheel on the bottom that causes the arms and legs to move as you put pressure on it.  When I saw no batteries, I thought it was an ingenious toy.  He did not think so.  He loves the ship, though!  Won&#39;t stop playing with it.

My Grandson (5 almost 6) saw this in a toy ad and loved it.  I ordered it for him for Christmas and as soon as he saw it he was overjoyed and ran over and gave me a big hug and kiss...(which is worth all in the world).  He has been playing with it since he got it and is taking very good care of it.  Would definitely recommend it!!!

My son got this pirate ship for his third birthday it is the best present ever !  The ship shoots missiles and cannon balls it has a place for hidden treasures and trap doors also it has wheels on the bottom of it so it is pushed across the carpet or any floor surface easy @ $39.99 this is a must have!

This big ship is absolutely awesome. There are so many different things the child can do with it. It is worth the money.

Fun toy

I was hesitant to buy this because I thought it was pricey for a toy, but boy was it worth it! I got it for my 4.5 year old nephew and he hasn't stopped playing with it since he opened it…. It's his favorite Christmas gift thus far. It's so interactive with the plank and shooting cannon. Would definitely recommend this product.

Worth every penny!

This is a Christmas gift so I don't know the child's reaction yet but this is the toy he asked for and this same company made his favorite toy last Christmas " megazord " he still has hours of fun with that. Walmart offered the best price on both of these toys. My money isn't wasted on these gifts.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Imaginext Shark Bite Pirate Ship toy, is an awesome toy , with great design and durability.It was easy to unpack it, tools are not required to assemble the toy. The dimensions of the ship is 20 X 8 X 16 inches. This ship is big enough for two kids to play with together or a parent and a child. Half shark and half pirate ship, who would not like that type of design! This toy has a lot of features that keeps my 3yr old son and I (mommy) occupied for hours. I am surprised how fun it is to play with this toy with my son, even for a grown up.  The toy comes with a pirate flag, two pirate figurines (one human pirate and one shark pirate). Each pirate figurine comes with a sword and a captain's hat.  There are also two canon balls and 4 torpedo's that comes with the ship that can be propelled from it. The ship also contains a hidden department for treasure! There is also a telescope, anchor, and prison cage that comes with the ship.  Another cool feature that the ship has is the shark fins.  When you move the ship around, the fins are moving with the motion, making the shark pirate ship look like its swimming.  My son's favorite features is propelling canon balls, propelling torpedo's, and using the shark's big bite to eat anything in sight! This toy is quite durable, which is a good thing, because my son tends to be rough with toys. As a parent, one thing that I like about this toy, other than the seemingly endless features that it has, is that this toy does encourage the use of your imagination and its enjoyable seeing my son play with this toy and using his imagination at the same time.
